Is it Mac-only?
Yes. Stray Finds is built natively for macOS, and there is no Windows, Linux, phone, or web version. Your graph is an ordinary file on disk, though, so it is never locked to hardware we don't support.
What happens when the trial ends?
You get 7 days with everything enabled, AI credits included, no card up front. After that, the app asks for a license before opening again. Your memos don't expire with the trial: they stay in the SQLite file on your Mac, readable with or without us.
How many Macs can I use it on?
Two at a time per license. Switching machines is self-serve: free the old Mac from Settings in the app (or from the license portal, if that machine is gone) and activate the new one.
Is $49 really all? What about updates?
Your license is yours forever and includes every update we ship in the following year. After that the app keeps working exactly as it is, and security fixes still reach you. When enough new features have piled up to tempt you, renew at a discount (about half price), on your own schedule. Nothing renews by itself.
How do the AI credits work?
Your license includes a starter allowance: about 200 classified captures, working out of the box with no API key and no setup. When it runs low, one click buys a €5 top-up, good for about 370 more captures, roughly three months of everyday use. Nothing recharges automatically: a quiet month costs nothing, credits just wait. Or bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter key and pay the provider directly, free forever.
Where does my data go when the AI classifies something?
From your Mac straight to the model provider, and nowhere else: nothing of yours passes through our servers. Prefer full control of that path? Use your own API key and we're out of the loop entirely. Details in Your data.
